Spasso Cooking Academy
Get behind-the-line with a master chef and learn tips and techniques to take your cooking to the next level. The hands-on classes take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at the expansive open kitchen at Spasso, a new eatery in Miami's Coconut Grove neighborhood.
“You don’t need to bring anything to class except ... a good mood. Here, you can ask everything you wanted to ask but were afraid to,” says Chef Gaetano Ascione. After the class, you'll eat the food you’ve cooked, share Italian wine and enjoy a friendly atmosphere.
A native of Naples, Italy, chef Gaetano has worked around the world. Some of his career highlights include serving two U.S. Presidents, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, as Chef de Cuisine at the Georgetown Club in Washington DC. Chef Gaetano has been affiliated with two Two-Star Michelin restaurants in Cannes, France.
