Coming to Hollywood: Margaritaville Resort

Hollywood, Florida is constantly growing and evolving into a cosmopolitan and highly diverse area. With great food options, amazing shopping and a bustling nightlife, it’s no surprise that in the coming new year Hollywood will open a new set of doors. Located beachside, Margaritaville Resort is set to open in 2015 and the seaside is buzzing with excitement at this new project. Where Traveler and Where South Florida asked Cate Farmer, general manager for Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, her thoughts on this upcoming property.

What has you most excited about being a part of Margaritaville?

For years, Jimmy Buffett's lyrics and the Margaritaville brand have resonated with millions of people.  Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort truly captures that same sense of escapism and relaxed, comfortable island vibe. I am thrilled to be a part of such a unique destination with so many offerings that will allow our guests to define and create their own sense of paradise.  

What makes the Hollywood Beach location extra special?

Hollywood Beach continues to charm visitors by showcasing a 'retro cool' classic Florida. Often compared to quaint European villages and funky Californian beach towns, the character of this area is quintessential Florida. From evening strollers to morning joggers, and bicyclists to roller-bladers, there are so many wonderful things about this destination and when it opens, Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort will be the perfect complement to the vibe and activities of the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk.

What can locals and visitors expect from the new hotel to get them excited?

That the resort is well-suited for everyone. Whether on business or leisure, the tropical vibe and feeling of escapism will be evident immediately upon arrival. In addition to being the newest resort located in this incredible destination, Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is completely different from anything else in the market.  With such a wide variety of amenities, services and facilities, we believe we will stand out in many ways. 

One of the specific things that will really set us apart is our pool and beachscape.  The resort will feature multiple pools and activities like the unique beachfront FlowRiderR Double, a water slide, cabanas and a poolside food truck.  For those looking for a relaxing oasis, our 11,000 full-service St. Somewhere Spa will be a luxurious retreat for locals and travelers.  For groups and special events, our oceanfront function space is impressive, with more than 30,000 square feet.

The other thing that is truly spectacular about Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is the variety of food and beverage options available.  The property boasts eight distinctive bars and restaurants, including the debut of an all-new Margaritaville-inspired upscale dining concept, JWB Prime Steak and Seafood.   Of course, we will offer several live entertainment venues, including Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, the legendary Hollywood Bandshell and 5 o'clock Somewhere Bar and Boat Dock on the Intracoastal Waterway.
