Semilla
A locals favorite in South Beach, Semilla Eatery and Bar is a chef-driven concept created by renowned chef, Frederic Joulin. Trained in Paris by Michelin star chefs like Guy Savoy and worked as private chef to President Jacques Chirac of France, Joulin is an experienced chef/restaurateur. In his latest gastronomic endeavor, Semilla, a diner can expect a carefully crafted seasonally driven menu of dishes made primarily with organic ingredients.
Small bites include organic spiced cauliflower with crumbled cashew nuts and fried oysters with congit leeks, while heartier appetizers include Mediterranean grilled octopus with fennel salad and Wagyu beef carpaccio with hearts of palm. There are gluten-free options on the menu like the Florida gluten-free lobster pasta and responsibly raised fish and meat dishes like the Branzino filet “a la plancha” and organic chicken breast cordon bleau. Of course, this is a French eatery, so you won’t want to pass up the decadent selection of desserts.
The vibe at Semilla is always cheerful and relaxed, attracting an eclectic mix of sophisticated clientele, but Friday night has garnered much popularity for its all night happy hour and live DJ music. Open seven days a week for D, 5 pm-12 am.
