Local designers, artists and chefs have shied away from pricey leases in permanent buildings and opted instead to test the waters in low-cost, low-commitment temporary spaces. They’re often found in hip and creative storefronts and always in hot demand. The lucky ones turn into full-fledged brick-and-mortar locations. In the meantime, add these six to your must-visit list.
