During Halloween it’s popular to see many travel-themed costumes, from pilots and flight attendants to TSA agents and stereotypical tourists. With the holiday right around the corner and time running out to find that perfect costume, before you resort to DIY-ing, here are some last-minute ideas for a winning outfit.
Miami Twice
Take a fashionable walk through time at Miami Twice. Whether channeling Lady Mary from the British sensation “Downton Abbey” or the hair bands from the 1980s, this family-owned vintage boutique turns itself into Halloween central this month, with items curated by fashionista owners Mary Kyle Holle and Diane Kyle.
La Casa de los Trucos
One of the oldest costume and prop houses in Miami, this is the city’s own “Little Shop of Horrors.” During October, the shop’s collection of wigs, costumes for children, adults and pets, gags—fart machine, itching powder—and novelty items are in high demand and surprisingly affordable.
Spirit Halloween
Creepy or sassy scarecrow, “Baywatch” lifeguard or mad hatter from “Alice in Wonderland,” are a few of the new costumes for 2017 at Spirit Halloween. America’s first pop-up shop, Spirit Halloween is known for opening temporary stores across the country for two-month stints. Halloween is the perfect time to stock up on apparel, accessories and other spirited home goods.
ABC Costume Shop
Outfitting everyone from movie and television stars to cruise line and theater productions, ABC Costume Shop boasts an inventory of more than 30,000 costumes, albeit more expensive and ornate than what you might find in other party supply stores. Plus, its in-house design staff is available to create custom outfits. Open extended hours during Halloween season, from 9 am-6 pm M-F; 10 am-5 pm Sa; and 12 pm-5 pm Su.
PRIV
Complete your costume look with the most ghoulish makeup, a la Pennywise from Saturday Night Live. With a new on-demand beauty and wellness app, PRIV, recently launched in Miami, you can have a make-up artist or hair stylist at your fingertips. Book a variety of services for men and women, including hairstyling, make-up, nails, facials and other grooming services.
