Easter in South Florida
Author(s):

Whether you’re spending your morning at church services or hunting for eggs with the kids (or both!) there’s plenty of Easter plans around Miami for everyone.

Joey’s Egg Hunt at Museum of Discovery

The museum’s very own Joey the otter has caused some mischief, leaving eggs all throughout the place! Kids can search the science museum for the goodies he’s left behind, and those who finish the search get a gift bag. Even better, if you find a golden egg, you’re the grand prize winner! Plus, a meet and greet with the fun-loving otter.

April 3 to 5 from noon to 4 pm at the Museum of Discovery and Science, 401 SW Second St. in Fort Lauderdale.  Call 954.467.6637

Brunch on a Boat

It wouldn’t be South Florida if your holiday didn’t consist of some sort of water activity. For an out-of-the-ordinary brunch, hit the high seas (OK, they’re actually pretty calm) aboard the Windridge Yacht charters. Enjoy you the view of the Intracoastal while dining on a special brunch buffet menu, free mimosas and rose, music from a DJ, and a Bloody Mary bar to build the cocktail to your own liking.

April 5 from 12:30-3 pm, Tranquility Marina, 2950 NE 32nd Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 888.305.4800

Dino Egg Safari

It’s an Easter egg hunt with a twist! In honor of the zoo’s new dinosaur exhibit, children 12 and younger can hunt for dinosaur eggs throughout the park, as well as hang out with the Easter Bunny and other fun activities. It’s you’re a zoo member, you get an extra hour before everyone else! Hunt is free with zoo admission -- don’t forget to wander the park to see how Zoo Miami’s animals are celebrating the holiday too.

April 4 and 5 from 11 am to 4 pm, Zoo Miami, 12400 SW 152nd St. in Miami

Easter Bonnet Pet Parade

Who says pets can’t get in on the Easter fun? Dress up your pet in its finest Easter bonnet, and on the lawn of the Cornell Museum judges will choose the most traditional, most original, funniest, frou frou, tropical, owner-pet look alike contest, and best in show. Entry is $3, benefitting Dezzy’s Second Chance Dog Rescue. Click here for more information.

April 4 at 9 am at Old School Square and Park, 95 NE First Ave. in Delray Beach
